New Wineskins

And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for they say, ‘The old is better.’” (Luke 5:37-39, NIV)

For many people, “church” has become an uncomfortable place. A place where people have been misjudged, mistreated, and misunderstood. Where the story of life and of God is a story that hurts instead of helps, that robs people of joy, and that confronts our deepest needs with demands we can never meet.

But what if that’s the wrong story?

What if there’s a better story? One that heals, one that overflows with joy, and one that meets your needs with love and compassion?

We invite you to be part of that story.

In the Mid-Ohio Valley, a group of people is gathering to do just that.

New Wineskins is a conversation that happens the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at the Marietta Brewing Company in Marietta, Ohio. We come together over a meal and a shared glass to dive deeper into the story of Jesus and find our place within it.

We gather over story, art, experience and conversation. We gather to find and share grace. We gather to discover what love can really be.

We welcome all people of all backgrounds, orientations and experiences. Bring your hardest questions and deepest doubts. Feel free to invite your friends.

Come and hang out, order some grub and a cold drink, open your mind and heart, and join the conversation!

For dates, directions & up-to-the-minute info, check out the New Wineskins website or visit our Facebook event page.
